Newsletter: !!!Break away and go and do some local skiing!!! - Tuesday, 23 July 2013

What a local skiing season this has been with uncharacteristic warm days and beautiful weather. Not really what skiers wish for BUT everyone we chatted to, returning their ski rental clothing had fun times at the local resorts. It is amazing that with modern snowmaking machinery South Africans can enjoy a fantastic sport that would not have been otherwise available. There is still at least a month left to enjoy local snow, so break away and do it!

Make sure you know how to ski/snowboard before you get to your resort.

Special for local skiers and snowboarders!

3 lessons on the famous Ski Deck for only R960.*** Normal price! You save R300***

Lessons are 1 hour long and all equipment is included in this price PLUS FREE USE of the static slope (when available)

Rental of Ski Jackets and Ski Pants:

Jackets & Pants Rental - Cost per item: R120 for the first day and R80 per day thereafter. Please see our website for more info

What else do you need for your trip?

You will need ski gloves, ski socks, ski goggles, warm winter non slip boots as well as base layers. There are real reasons why you should be using gear that is specifically designed for skiing. Some of the qualities you will be paying for are: thermal insulation (warmth) and the lightness and thickness of this; breathability (clothing should be highly breathable); should be windproof and water repellent. Check our ski clothing technical information page  or ask experienced skiers as weather and resort conditions constantly change.

The Ski & Snowboard Shop in Ferndale sells new and second hand clothes.

Our passion for skiing is FREE so pop in and chat about skiing, lessons, ski gear and resort advice.
